Fake milk powder suspected to be sold in Johor

210 boxes of suspected fake infant formula seized in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU: Malaysian authorities have seized 210 boxes of suspected fake infant formula in five raids in Johor Baru.

Johor Domestic Trade and Consumerism Ministry director Khairul Anwar Bachok said on Sunday (Dec 10) that the products were confiscated from drug stores and convenience shops in five different locations in Johor Baru.

SINGAPORE: Enfagrow A+ Malaysia has issued a statement informing consumers how to identify packets of fake infant formula that were sold in Johor Baru.

In a Facebook post on Monday (Dec 11), Enfagrow A+ Malaysia said that the only affected product is the Enfalac A+ Step 1 in 1.8 kg boxes that included three foil packs in each box.

Here's my advice to those parents who buy milk powder in Malaysia:

Avoid provision/drug stores/convenience stores and buy from the big players such as Tesco, Giant or Aeon instead. It may costs you a few dollars more but peace of mind is priceless.

Even in Singapore, you can get cheaper milk powder from some Chinese medicine halls. However the source of these cheaper forumla milk is likely from Malaysia. DYODD.
